Work Force housing in New Hampshire is a housing option that is meant to be affordable to individuals and families living on a limited income. The rent structure is income adjusted and designed to give Portsmouth’s workforce the opportunity to live in the community they work in.

Income qualification depends on the size of your household and annual gross income. Please see the chart below for the income limits.

  • Household of 4:  $30,000-$74,620
  • Household of 3:  $30,000-$67,200
  • Household of 2:  $30,000- $59,710
  • Household of 1:  $30,000- $52,290

Units at Ruth’s place are assigned one of three income limits, 50% of Area Mediam Income (AMI), 60% of AMI, or 70% of AMI. Rent is set according to which income limit you qualify under. Please see the table below:

    1. Under 50% of Area Median Income
      • 1 BR Unit- $1,027
      • 2 BR Unit- $1,233
    2. Under 60% of Area Median Income
      • 1 BR Unit- $1,246
      • 2 BR Unit- $1,495
    3. Under 70% of Area Median Income
      • 1 BR Unit- $1,361
      • 2 BR Unit- $1,634

Yes, each resident household is allowed either (2) cats maximum OR (1) small dog under 20lbs. Any other animals are not permitted. All residents must receive approval from management and fill out registration information BEFORE allowing a pet to live in a unit. 

Rent includes heat and hot water. Tenants are responsible for paying electric.

There are a limited number of underground parking spots available in the building. These spots will be assigned on a first come first served basis. A monthly parking fee of $200 is required to secure a reserved underground spot. There will also be a limited number of outdoor parking spots available to be reserved for a monthly fee ($100).

Yes, Ruth Lewin Griffin Place will be accepting Housing Choice Vouchers.
